These guys had a great idea, but there was a very important second component that neded to be handled right- the writing of the comedic live sketch script. For this they made a decision that only reinforced the combination of genius and common sense that has made them tremendously successful and wealthy thus far- they hired a proven EXPERT. They hired Funny Biz Writers. I will let you in on a secret. Writing a script for an extremely no-nonsense European-based CEO (he wanted it all in English, as everyone in the company, himself included speaks at least passable English) felt like a special kind of pressure. Nearly 2,000 people is a serious audience. The standards were high. He and his co-executives know something about live theater, comedy and sophisticated wit. Funny Biz Writers felt itself to once again be on the "firing line", so to speak- performing an extremely specialized task for executives and professionals at a very high level- people who move in a world of gold standards, platinum cards and 5 diamond accomodations. Truth be told, however, writing this script was also a LOT of fun. It took us back to our days in the thick of the sketch comedy scene in LA, where we also created short films and videos which did well, got notice and landed us in some prestigious festivals. We approached this comedic script with the same sense of creativity, whimsy and attention to deal, the same comedic ZEAL with which we'd approach a sketch show meant for packed theaters or a film to be seen by the most discerning eyes. We take pride in what we write and imagine that the audience somehow knows that we are the writers and that they would be judging US!
The corporate CEO & VP's live sketch show presentation went GREAT... fantastique, wunderbar, muy bueno! They smashed it and everybody had fun and a lot of laughs. And I am sure that corporate performance and revenue will increase again this year. The point is, writing comedy for our clients is more than a job, it's a passionate expression of our gifts and hard-earned skills and abilities. But the value a client gets from showing professional, cutting-edge comedic content to their employees, peers, or potential customers is hard to put a price on. We'd start at "infinity"? But then again, we're professional comedy writers, not trained economists.
